Modern Sculptor

Though a sculptor in many mediums, Delayne’s purest inspiration comes from stone, ice, sand, and snow. These mediums were his playthings as a boy growing up throughout Canada. They shaped and guided him onto creative paths.

Delayne’s life changed the instant he picked up his first rudimentary sculpting tools. A simple probe into subtractive art instantly captured his imagination. Smashing stones with a hammer and chisel gave an emotional and physical release that helped Delayne transition into the man he is today.

Sculpting is a passion that has lead Delayne on a wild journey of challenge, creation, and community. A desire for continuous improvement in his craft has led to many opportunities for Delayne to travel the world. He has participated in competitions, exhibition, symposiums, and master’s study throughout Europe, Asia, Canada, and the United States.

With great respect I acknowledge that I live, work, and create on the unceded territories of the Sylix Peoples and of the Coast Salish Peoples.

I acknowledge the caretakers of the lands and the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.
